Drew Barrymore was born in Culver City, California February 22, 1975. In 1982 she was an international star, known for her role as Gertie in ET, Steven Spielberg, the alien. In late 1982, Drew was known worldwide as the epitome of "cute blonde girl," but what was happening behind the scenes were much darker tones.
Barrymore began drinking at age nine and started taking the drug shortly after. Fama much pressure and attention was apparently a toll young actress. His 15 years Drew Barrymore had cleaned up his act - Drew spent time in rehab to help control his drinking and drug problems, and also published her autobiography "Little Girl Lost," which has helped to rejuvenate the his career. Drew began to appear in films again, and the mid-90s is back on track as a bankable actor.
Drew has always had a wild-child image and is only enhanced by its flashing David Letterman during an appearance on the Late Show as a "birthday gift" and pose nude for Playboy in 1995.
